You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

- Mary Oliver

Rooted in my lifelong love of nature and aided by my own brushes with mortality, I guide others into intimate relationship with the Wild.

I teach people how to listen deeply to the Mysteries that live within wild Earth, Dreamtime, and their own wild Nature, and to encounter and live their Souls, or truest selves.

I gently usher people into the underground river of their greater story, so that they may surrender to their soul’s deepest longing. I help people embrace their sacred gifts and live a life of creative service. I support people in rediscovering their deeper belonging to the greater Earth community and in engaging in the largest conversation they are capable of having with the World.

I invite people to hear and surrender to their Soul’s greatest calling, sometimes best understood through poetry. David Whyte suggests it’s the “truth at the center of the image you were born with” and the shape that “waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky.”

…To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.
To remember the other world in this world
is to live in your true inheritance.

You are not a troubled guest on this earth…
…you were invited from another and greater night…
…What urgency calls you to your one love?
What shape waits in the seed of you
to grow and spread its branches
against a future sky?

 - David Whyte

Radical transformation requires a descent into the depths of soul, an initiatory journey that reveals our hidden and unique gifts. On a journey such as this, we encounter our unique role in the larger Earth community—revealed in the mysterious symbols, metaphors, images, dreams, and numinous encounters that weave together our mythopoetic identity, greater story, or personal mission. We learn to empower our soul to be the visionary for what the ego manifests in the world.

I work primarily with people who seek a conscious and soulful life and are in the process of letting go of old ways of being; those willing to turn toward their grief and their pain, heal and grow whole; and those asking questions about purpose and meaning.

Individual Soul Guiding Sessions

Rebecca Wildbear FIN 7.jpg

Individual sessions can take place in person (in Durango, Colorado) or by phone or Skype (approximately 60 - 75 minutes). I also offer uniquely designed sessions for couples, groups, and organizations.

Sliding fee: $125 to as low as $85, according to what you can afford.

Each session is individualized—in its deepest form, it is directed by the witnessing of the mysteries that arise within each person: emotions, sensations, memories, images, dreams, and movements. I track the Mystery revealing itself and assist people in gathering the pieces to remember their evolving mythic soul story. Ongoing sessions offer continuity that supports people in tracking their most potent soul threads.

Soulcentric Dreamwork

Soulcentric Dreamwork is a primary modality in my work with others, as every dream is an embodied invitation to our unfolding soul story. However, our work together may weave in a variety of other modalities and practices, including: listening to the body, somatic meditation, mindfulness, cultivating the deep imagination, shadow work, conversations with the animate natural world, soul tasks in nature, self-healing and “wholing” utilizing the Map of the Psyche, sacred wound work, tracking the mythopoetic story, and self-designed ceremony.  I offer practices and invitations that will deepen people between sessions.

If you’d like to explore whether individualized soul work is for you, please contact me to schedule a complimentary 15-minute conversation. Call me at (435) 691-3021 or send me a message at

What is your mythopoetic identity?

Soulcraft® skills and practices evoke the world-shifting experience of soul encounter: the revelation of our unique mythopoetic identity expressed through symbol and metaphor, image and dream, archetype and myth, and embodied in a mysterious story that whispers to us in moments of expanded awareness and exquisite aliveness. The shape and rhythm of this story reveals the hidden treasure that each of us carries for the world—a world longing for the transformative contributions of visionary leaders and artisans of cultural renaissance.  - Animas Valley Institute

Some images and words of my own mythopoetic story:

As Wild Love Prayer Bear, I reside in the cave under the sacred tree, at the center of the forest at the pool where the wall is cracked, and so beats the heart of the world. I lean my heart to that heart and feel it all. The cave pool opens to a river that continues to run underground and on which it is possible to surrender to the call of soul. I invite others to this underground river dream stream.  Meanwhile, the bear is rapidly walking out from the burning forest toward the world tree. He lives both underground below the tree and above ground in the world of the burning forest. I flow as and with him on the underground river.
